Educational Qualification
Essential:
- Passed Matriculation from a recognized Board of School Education/Institution.
- A valid driving licence for plying heavy/light vehicles in hilly terrain.
Himachal Pradesh School Condition: To be eligible for Group-C posts, a candidate must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from a school or institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
Desirable: Knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, and suitability for appointment under the peculiar conditions prevailing in the State.

HPPWD Driver Salary 2026
Selected candidates will be engaged on a daily wage basis at Rs. 527 per day. This works out to roughly Rs. 15,800 per month for 30 days of work. The monthly figure is only an estimate, because wages are paid per working day.
