UKPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification
For most posts, candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. However, several posts have specific qualifications. Assistant Director/Accounts Examination Officer requires Commerce graduation or CA qualification, while Deputy Education Officer/Law Officer has specific postgraduate/law-related requirements. Assistant Director (Factory/Boiler) requires an engineering qualification, Horticulture Development Officer requires Agriculture/Horticulture qualification, and Case Worker requires postgraduate qualification in relevant social science/social work subjects.
Age Limit
The prescribed age range is 21 to 42 years, calculated as on 01 July 2026, with relaxation available to eligible reserved categories as per applicable Uttarakhand Government rules.

Application Fee
The preliminary examination fee is:
- General/OBC/EWS: ₹166.36
- Uttarakhand SC/ST: ₹76.36

1. Preliminary Examination: General Studies has 150 questions for 150 marks, while General Aptitude Test has 100 questions for 150 marks. Both papers are of two hours. There is 1/4 negative marking for wrong answers. The General Studies paper determines the preliminary merit, while the Aptitude paper is qualifying with a minimum 33% requirement.
2. Main Examination: The written stage consists of General Hindi, Essay and six General Studies papers, including two papers specifically focused on Uttarakhand. The General Hindi paper requires a minimum of 35% marks.
3. Interview: The Personality Test carries 150 marks and assesses general awareness, intelligence, character, expression, personality and overall suitability for government service.
