Eligibility Criteria
Nationality and Domicile
- The candidate must be a bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh, certified by the SDO (Civil), Tehsildar or Naib-Tehsildar.
Disability Requirement
- The candidate must have at least 40% permanent disability (benchmark disability) in the Orthopedically Handicapped category.
- A Disability Certificate issued by the competent Medical Board, i.e. the District Medical Board or above, is mandatory. It will be verified if the candidate is selected.
- Only OH candidates should apply.
Educational Qualification
Essential qualification (any one of the following):
- Passed 10+2 from a recognized Board of School Education or University, or
- Matriculation from a recognized Board, plus a one or two-year Diploma/Certificate from an ITI in an Information Technology Enabled Sector (ITES) as notified by the DGET (Government of India), or a three-year Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / IT from an AICTE-approved polytechnic.
Typing speed: 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
Exemptions:
- Visually impaired candidates selected under the 1% quota are exempt from the computer diploma and typing test. They will instead receive department-arranged training through CRC Sundernagar, NIVH Dehradun or CTC Ludhiana, with three chances to qualify.
- Candidates certified by the Medical Board as unable to type because of a physical disability that permanently prevents typing may be exempted from the typing test. This does not cover visually or hearing-impaired persons.
Desirable: Knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
