The notification lists no PwBD seats for Himachal Pradesh. The seat numbers are provisional and may change according to the Bank’s requirements. Canara Bank may also allot your seat in any district of the state you choose, based on administrative need.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality: Indian citizen.
2. Educational qualification: A graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification. You must have passed graduation between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026 (both dates inclusive).
3. Age limit (as on 1 September 2026):
- Minimum 20 years, maximum 28 years
- You must be born between 2 September 1998 and 1 September 2006 (both dates inclusive)

SC/ST/OBC relaxation is cumulative with only one of the other categories.
4. Who cannot apply:
- Candidates who have already done apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or any other organisation, or are currently doing one
- Candidates whose earlier apprenticeship was terminated due to their own fault
- Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after completing their qualification
- Ex-servicemen, as there is no reservation or engagement for them under this programme
5. Minimum marks: At least 60% in Class 12 (HSC/10+2) or Diploma, or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% counts as below 60%.
Stipend and Benefits
- Monthly stipend: ₹16,650, of which the Bank pays ₹10,500 and the Government of India pays ₹6,150 directly to the apprentice’s account through DBT
- Leave: 12 casual leaves per year, with a maximum of 4 at a time
- Certificate: NATS joint certificate after completion
- Training: On-the-job training at selected branches, with working hours as per the Bank’s clerical cadre
Important: Apprentices are not employees of Canara Bank. PF, ESI and bonus do not apply, and the Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment after the training.
Selection Process
- Registration and application: Candidates apply online, and applications are ranked state-wise.
- Merit list: The list is prepared in descending order of Class 12 or Diploma percentage. Ties are broken by age, with the older candidate ranked higher.
- Document verification: Originals and self-attested copies are checked.
- Local language test (Hindi for Himachal): Candidates whose Class 10 or 12 marksheet shows Hindi as a subject are exempt. Others must pass the test during document verification.
- Medical fitness: Selected candidates must be declared medically fit by the Bank.
The merit list is based only on the information you enter in the online application, so any mismatch found at verification leads to disqualification.

How to Apply: Step by Step
- Step 1: Register on NATS. Go to nats.education.gov.in and complete your profile to 100%. You will get an enrolment ID, so keep it safe. Only candidates with a fully complete NATS profile can apply.
- Step 2: Prepare your documents. Keep scanned images ready:

- Step 4: Fill in the form. Enter your NATS enrolment ID and select Himachal Pradesh as your state. You can choose only one state, but you will rank all districts of that state in order of preference. Enter your name exactly as on your Class 10 marksheet.
- Step 5: Upload, pay and submit. Upload your documents, pay the fee if applicable, and click Final Submit. No changes are allowed after final submission.
